Where can I park for my event? Will there be a way back to my car?

In the marathon and half marathon you will want to park at Rice-Eccles Stadium ONLY. There will only be one bus pickup location this year due to logistical issues with Day’s of 47′ parade. Those running the 10k will want to park in the areas surrounding Research Park at the University of Utah.  5k runners should park near Wasatch Elementary School.  We recommend arriving early to find the best parking locations.

There will be specific shuttle buses taking people back to Research Park and Rice-Eccles Stadium.  Those buses are often very full and take a lot of time to return because of traffic and road closures.  If you are in a hurry, we recommend having someone pick you up near the park.  Walking back to the 10k start is about two miles.

In accordance with the Salt Lake Police Department, the marathon course will close after six hours. After that, all runners will be directed toward the sidewalk and clean up at the finish line will begin.

Half Marathon runners will be redirected at 8:30, they will be routed onto the marathon course and cannot come down 200 E.  This will give you 2.5 hours to get to mile 11 before the re-route takes place.

In the marathon there are aid stations at every other mile starting at mile three.  There will be Powerade at the aid stations located at miles 5, 9, 13, 17, 21 and 25.  There are “Energy” gel at mile 19.  The half marathon will have aid stations at every other mile.  In the 10k, there are two aid stations.  Each finisher will be able to go through the food alley where there will be an assortment of water, Magleby’s Fresh french toast, Creamies, fruit, etc.

Remember that not all the aid stations are exactly at the mile markers because of logistics in the canyon, but they are placed as closely to them as possible.
